What is an intelligent operating model?

It is the stage digital transformation reaches when artificial intelligence stops being just another tool and becomes the central driver of strategy, operations and decision-making. The organization no longer only digitizes processes: it operates on top of artificial intelligence, automation and data.

The certification covers that shift end to end, from evaluating the emerging technologies ecosystem and deciding what to automate, to redesigning how human teams and autonomous systems work together, governing the risk this creates, leading the transition and measuring its return.

Process digitization is not the same as an AI-driven operation
Business and technology converge into a single operating decision
Every adoption decision is grounded in data, not intuition
The 7 exam modules
1. Introduction
From digital transformation to operational intelligence
2. Emerging technologies ecosystem
Technological maturity, build vs. buy, vendor selection
3. AI and automation adoption strategy
Candidate processes, what not to automate, business case
4. Human-agent operating redesign
Collaboration models, human-in-the-loop, roles and processes
5. Governance, risk and trust
Traceability, ethics, reference frameworks (ISO/IEC 42001)
6. Organizational transition and adoption
Resistance to change, communication, leadership
7. Impact measurement and ROI
KPIs, ROI, scaling from pilot to full operation

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know

What is the exam format?

It is an online exam of 40 multiple-choice, single-answer questions, with a duration of 60 minutes and a minimum passing grade of 28/40 (70%). It is closed book, available online only on the CertMind platform, and supervised through the Invigilator Program (proctoring). If you do not take it in your native language you get 15 additional minutes and are allowed to use a dictionary.

What do I need in order to take it?

The prerequisites are: being of legal age according to the minimum age determined by law (with the national identity document uploaded to the platform), having basic reading, writing and arithmetic knowledge, and reading and accepting the Code of Ethics available on the platform before taking the exam. Formal training of at least 28 hours, segmented into 7 sessions of approximately 4 hours, is highly recommended.

How long is the credential valid and how is it renewed?

The certification is valid for 5 years. To renew it you must submit the recertification request before it expires and register 15 PUCs (Professional Update Credits) every 5 years, attaching the supporting evidence on the CertMind platform. If the certification expires, the certification process must be completed again.

What level of difficulty does the exam have?

Questions are distributed following Bloom taxonomy: 50% knowledge (bringing the appropriate information to mind), 30% comprehension (interpreting material and estimating future trends) and 20% application (using what was learned in concrete, new situations).

Why do certifications expire?

Certifications expire because frameworks, technologies, and best practices evolve constantly. Expiration ensures that certified professionals stay current with industry standards and continue developing their skills. This maintains the value and credibility of the certification in the job market.

How can I renew my certification?

You can renew your certification by accumulating Professional Update Credits (PUCs) through work experience, training courses, or professional development activities. Before your certification expires, submit your renewal application through the CertMind platform with the required PUCs documented.

What happens if my certification expires?

If your certification expires, you will need to go through the recertification process, which typically involves retaking the exam. We recommend starting your renewal process well before the expiration date to avoid any gaps in your certified status.

Can I take the exam in my native language?

Yes, CertMind offers exams in both English and Spanish. You can choose your preferred language when scheduling your exam. All study materials and syllabi are also available in both languages to support your preparation.
